<p>OPERATIONAL CONTROL &amp; ASSURANCE<br /> LONDON, MONACO, GENEVA, JERSEY, ISLE OF MAN, GIBRALTAR, GLASGOW</p> <p>Our client Barclays Wealth is one of the UK’s leading wealth managers with client assets under management globally of more than £133bn. The business has achieved rapid expansion since being formed in 2006 and has ambitious plans for future growth. Providing international and private banking, fiduciary services, investment management and brokerage, they operate in over 20 countries and employ over 6,900 people.</p> <p>Barclays Wealth is seeking to hire a number of high calibre individuals into their Operations teams in various locations across the UK and Europe. Your role will be to identify and mitigate risk on all operating platforms across the business, thereby strengthening client service delivery in the context of global process and control standards.</p> <p>As an integrated part of Wealth Operations, you will be pivotal in ensuring that operational risk is managed effectively. You will advise stakeholders on best practices, influence strategic decisions and regularly interact with Senior Management. You will be renowned for your technical expertise, objectivity and value add in a complex, dynamic business. </p> <p>Your main responsibilities will include:<br /> • Performing operational risk assessments leading to in-depth reviews of operational processes / controls and remediation of gaps against best practice<br /> • Analysing operational procedures and controls required to support new business initiatives<br /> • Supporting strategic change programmes, evaluating and mitigating the impact on the control environment within Operations<br /> • Performing root cause analysis in respect of operational errors and leading remediation<br /> • Working as a valued partner with Operational Risk, Compliance and Barclays Internal Audit</p> <p>To be successful in your application, you will require the following experience and education:<br /> • Working knowledge of risk and control techniques i.e. risk assessment, risk mitigation, risk management<br /> • Knowledge and experience of operational processes and controls gained within the Wealth Management, Banking or Finance industries<br /> • Degree educated, preferably with relevant professional qualifications (part-qualified or qualified in ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)<br /> • First class communication skills along with a positive and proactive attitude.
