<p>The Opportunity</p>
<p>We currently have a vacancy for a Software Development Project Manager to manage enhancements and improvements to a number of complex customer facing instructional educational technologies for the US market.</p>
<p>As a Software Development Project Manager you must be an established project manager with a proven track record in all aspects of delivery from small development bug fixes to large scale system improvements.<br />
A Software Development Project Manager must be expert in project planning, scheduling and budget control with a strong emphasis on customer service management and SLA.</p>
<p>This is a collaborative role, where the Software Development Project Manager will be required to interface and engage with product management, field technical support and functional groups including QA, Engineering operations and IT, from project inception to closure. The Software Development Project Manager will be required to oversee and guide the work tasks and deliverables of these internal functional groups and that of 3rd party vendors. </p>
<p>Strong 3rd party management capabilities, including negotiation and delivery management are essential as you will be required to interface with off shore partners on a daily basis.</p>
<p>This is a hands on role where you will manage projects through the full software development lifecycle and carefully monitoring and controlling through each of the phases from initiation to closure.</p>

The Company publishes a comprehensive set of educational solutions, ranging from research-based textbook programs to instructional technology to standards-based assessments for elementary and secondary schools and colleges. The Company also publishes an extensive line of reference works and award-winning fiction and nonfiction for adults and young readers. </p>
<p>Duties & Responsibilities</p>
<p>• Support legacy/existing products with updated maintenance and feature enhancement releases.<br />
• Drive and direct the project and associated teams to delivery.<br />
• Ensure project objectives are met within the constraints of project scope, time, cost and required quality.<br />
• Work closely with Product Development and functional teams to define project scope and all required deliverables, activities, activity sequence, Work Break-down Structure (WBS) and work estimates to create a framework for the project schedule.<br />
• End to end project planning including Schedule Development, Resource Planning, Cost Estimating, Budgeting utilizing all internal project management tools.<br />
• Working with the Vendor Strategy team to select 3rd party vendors and manage the procurement cycle including PO to invoicing.<br />
• Coordinating and communication with project resources, internal team, stakeholders and vendors on all aspects of project progression/status<br />
• Measuring progress and monitoring performance (overall, scope, schedule, costs, quality)<br />
• Risk Management including issue escalation and resolution.<br />
• Adhering to and following the organizational integrated Change Control Process<br />
• Post Project Implementation review to document lessons learnt.</p>
<p>Skills and Experience:</p>
<p>Essential<br />
• Bachelors Degree educated in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business.<br />
• 6 years + experience in a similar project management role, preferably in a fast paced service delivery environment.<br />
• Project management Certification a must<br />
• Project Management Tools proficiency<br />
• Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently<br />
• Extensive hands-on experience in producing detailed project schedules, extrapolating work break down structure, and resource requirements and tracking to schedule.<br />
• Exceptional communication skills with fluency in both verbal and written English.<br />
• Experience working with Technical Product Management Teams, experience and exposure to the following technologies, .Net, Java App, J2EE, SQL, Client server based environments<br />
• Ability to work with and manage 3rd party vendors </p>
<p>Highly Desirable<br />
• Analytical Skills with ability to truly understand the full scope and impact of the project requirements<br />
• Customer service orientation with ability to manage relationships with internal customers<br />
• Ability to drive consensus among various internal stakeholders, including executive management and third parties<br />
• Risk and issue management to all levels in the organization.<br />
• Extensive experience in project reporting including executive level briefing<br />
• Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills<br />
